SWC will meet in the Ballroom downstairs at Sedgefield Country Club. There will be a beverage station and social time starting at 9:30. The meeting will start at 10:00. The program will be provided by Civic Engagement & Outreach. The guest speaker is Sheletha Stewart.

Sheletha Stewart is the head of the Guilford County Department of Social Services which helps prepare foster children for adulthood. In that capacity, she is the Coordinator representing Guilford County’s LINKS program which is offered statewide by individual counties through the Department of Social Services. LINKS offer programs, training, experiences, and resources for youth in foster care between the ages of 13-20 years. Sheletha is also an Adult Supporter for SaySoInc, a statewide association of youth aged 14 to 24 who are or have been in the out-of-home care system that is based in North Carolina. She is especially sensitive to the needs of those young adults who age out of social services at 18 with no home, income, educational and emotional support. Her programs includes all types of substitute care, including foster care, group homes, and mental health placements, mentoring, health care access.

Lunch is immediately after the meeting in the Formal Dining Room on the main level. We will need to have a total of 15 lunch orders to hold our meeting in-person.
The lunch menu for the October meeting is:
Pork Schnitzel, spätzle, roasted Brussels and Butternut squash

Grilled Romaine Salad, Shaved Radish, Parmesan, Oven Roasted Chicken Breast and Tarragon Vinaigrette

The cost is $17 per person and reservations can be made by sending an email to Brenda Keany at swclunch@gmail.com and are due on the Thursday (10/21) at midnight. If we meet the minimum number of reservations, then we will continue to accept reservations until Monday (10/25) at midnight.
Please include your name, the lunch item you want with quantity, whether dining-in or to-go, if paying with SCC member number include that number. Checks are written to SCC. If paying with cash please bring exact amount.
There will be a raffle at the meeting, and someone who placed an order for lunch will win. This month’s prize is 11 x18 Inch Orange Pumpkin Wreath with a 14 Inch Metal Pumpkin Wreath Hanger.
